Spelled out as okeh, 1919, by Woodrow Wilson, on assumption that it represented Choctaw okeh "it is so" (a theory which lacks historical documentation); this was ousted quickly by okay after the appearance of that form in 1929. Okey-doke is student slang first attested 1932. Greek immigrants to America who returned home early 20c. having picked up U.S. speech mannerisms were known in Greece as okay-boys, among other things.

Jadi perkataan OK tu sendiri datangnya dari singkatan perkataan slang Boston yang memang diketahui mempunyai tatabahasa dan ejaan yang salah. Contoh yang popular cam perkataan 'KY' terbitan dari 'Know Yuse' (No Use), 'OW' terbitan dari kata 'Oll Wright' (All Right), 'OK' dari kata 'Oll Korrect' (All Correct) , 'NS' dari perkataan 'Nuff Said' (Enough Said) dan memacam perkataan yang menunjukkan diowang nih memang sengal .. kah kah kah ... dah tu kita plak ngikut kesengalan diowang dengan penuh bergaya manja ..kekonon mat saleh sangat le kata OK tu ..
